Transitions is hosting a “Social Thinking” conference presented by Dr. Pamela Crooke of Socialthinking.com on April 1, 2015. Visit http://transitionsusa.org/transitions_event/social-thinking/ for more information and to pre-register!

Transitioning into adulthood and living as young adults can overwhelm individuals born with social learning challenges, including autism spectrum disorders, even those who are “bright” with strong language skills. This workshop focuses on helping both parents and professionals (teachers, counselors, psychologists) and the students themselves prepare for and respond to this transition. The focus moves into the world of adult work, the social emotional expectations that exist in the workplace, and what it takes to live as an independent adult.

Transitions, is a supportive Apprenticeship program located in Gloversville, New York, uniquely designed to advance college and career success for high school graduates and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, learning differences and medical impairments.
