Brittany Jasenski, a 22 year old local resident from Rotterdam, New York will be competing in the 2011 Miss New York USA pageant this November. The event will take place in Albany at the Crowne Plaza Hotel the weekend of November 26th-28th, and well over 100 contestants are expected to compete. Should Ms. Jasenski go on to win the Miss New York USA title, she would be the first capital region contestant to do so, and also move on to compete in the nationally televised Miss USA Pageant next year, representing the state of New York.

Jasenski, who graduated from Mohonasen High School, is no stranger to beauty competitions having placed 3rd runner up out of 163 girls in the Miss New York Teen USA Pageant in 2006 and placing in the Top 10 in last year’s Miss South Carolina USA Pageant, while she was attending college at the University of South Carolina. “It takes a lot of work to prepare for a pageant of this prestige and I have learned though my previous endeavors, that the journey towards the goal is the most rewarding experience,” said Brittany, who currently is Marketing Director for Draper Development, LLC which proudly owns and operates 20 Subway locations throughout the Capital Region and Upstate New York. “This is an exciting time and I look forward to the challenge, and hopefully representing the Capital Region as Miss New York USA.”

To help be successful at her goal, Brittany is working with Chelsea Cooley, Miss USA 2005 and fitness guru, Dr. AT Dunn co-owners of StandOut Productions, the image consulting business in pageantry. “Brittany is a very bright and beautiful young woman. She has grown tremendously throughout her pageant preparations and I know she has what it takes to be a Miss USA!” states Cooley, who has been working with Brittany for over a year now.

Should Brittany capture the Miss New York USA crown, she would represent New York at Miss USA sponsored events and promotions throughout the country for a year. One such event includes interviewing alongside Miss New York Teen USA, which ironically, Kylie Jasenski, Brittany’s 16 year old younger sister, is competing in this year. “Sister Queens have never won higher than at the preliminary level of competition for any state, so Kylie and I are out to make history,” added Brittany.
